I think it's best if I pick one example and let it suffice. Let's take
a look at a Cotton Gin. The Gins Module truck goes out
into the field and picks up one of Farmer A's cotton modules.
When the truck pulls onto the scale... a red traffic light comes
on.. when the truck# and module#, along with the driverID# are
successfully scanned and associated with the weight
the light turns green and the truck delivers the module
to the gin. As the module is ginned and the cotton is separated
from the seed, the seed weight count joins the data ...
as the cotton is baled the weight and bale numbers join
the accumulated data. When all this data is compiled along
with the time and date it is sent to the office computer where
it is stored in the database. Now I AM simplifying things..
It all works out somehow.. whatever the application...
no matter how hostile the environment. The data is tracked and
handled in whatever fashion is best suited to your situation.
